America in Colour

This is one of several photos featured in a blog by the Denver Post on a great collection of colour photos of the United States taken by photographers of the Farm Security Administration/Office of War Information between 1939 and 1943.  The photos belong to the Library of Congress and were included in a 2006 exhibit Bound for Glory: America in Color.

Visually stunning,  they’re also a great example of how historical photographs can be presented on the web in an uncluttered, unfussy way that lets the photographs tell their own stories.  Here’s the link:
